River Road, c.1910
Collection Category
This image shows River Road looking east. The group of figures in the middle are gathered outside the King’s Arm’s, a public house ran, in the early 1900s, by Mrs. Mary Ann Creese. At one time there were no less than 6 pubs along River Road, which must have been a hive of activity with all its wharfs, warehouses and workshops. No doubt the many men who worked in the local businesses each had their favourite.
